Developer Tools & Technologies
Researched in the Q4 2017 Developer Economics Survey

During our latest Developers Economics survey which took place in November-December 2017 (Developer Economics Q4 2017 Cyberpunk survey) we asked software developers to rate an extensive list of tools based on their software development skills. The survey reached more than 21,800 developers in 168 countries. The tools listed fall under 8 different development areas.

You can track changes in each list, by checking which tools have been added and which have been removed. Changes are marked on the list to help you track them. These don’t represent changes in technology development but rather the different tools we selected to survey in the latest research wave we ran, based on our own, subjective technology research.
